Published "In Paris, at the S [ieur] r de Fer. In Isle du Palais on the Quay de l'Orloge at the Royal Sphere. With Privilege du Roy 1705". Boutier, in his bibliography, does not mention this intermediate edition, he lists the first edition of 1797 then that of 1719 (B).
The plan is dedicated to "Monsignor Messire Marc René de Voïr, from Paulmy, Marquis d'Argenson, Adviser to the King in his Councils,… and Lieutenant of Police of the city Prevosté and Vicomté of Paris, by his very humble and very obedient servant, of Iron, Geographer of Monseigneur le Dauphin ". D'Argenson replaced La Reynie as lieutenant general of police in January 1697. The plan shows the boundaries of the 17 police quarters (A to S) with the names of their police commissioner, as they existed before the reform of 1702.
Superb map of Paris, in color, surrounded by 25 vignettes, each accompanied by a description, representing different aspects of the royal residences of Versailles, Marly, Fontainebleau, Saint-Cyr , Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Meudon and Clagny. The plan is squared, from 1 to 14 horizontally, from A to L vertically.
The plan is presented in a very beautiful golden frame.
